Sparking the conversation of how to keep passengers safe in the car
PEORIA, Ill. (WMBD) — For a long time, drivers have been told how to be safe on the road, but what about the people who are along for the ride?
It’s National Passenger Safety Week, and we’re looking at ways for passenger riders to stay safe.
According to the National Road Safety Foundation, passengers account for roughly a quarter of all traffic deaths. That’s more than 9,000 deaths every year.
In Illinois, roughly 300 Riders lose their lives in a car accident yearly.
